Standard Chartered Hosts Panel Discussion for Bahraini Women’s Day to Empower Women Entrepreneurs

On the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day, Standard Chartered Bank hosted a panel discussion at its headquarters in Manama, bringing together participants from all five cohorts of the “Women in Tech” program. This initiative is aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in Bahrain by supporting their business growth and adaptation to the evolving digital landscape.

The panel featured prominent women entrepreneurs and industry leaders from a variety of sectors, providing a platform for insightful discussions and knowledge exchange. The event underscored the bank’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting women in entrepreneurship.

Throughout the session, participants shared key milestones from their entrepreneurial journeys, highlighting how they’ve leveraged digital solutions and modern technology to develop innovative products and services addressing market needs. They also discussed strategies for growth, expansion, and increasing their presence in both local and regional markets.

Challenges faced by women entrepreneurs were also discussed, including liquidity constraints, marketing difficulties, intense competition, and limited access to financing.

Furthermore, the participants explored the potential opportunities emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, present to drive growth across diverse sectors.

The speakers also congratulated Bahraini women for their achievements, wishing them continued progress, leadership, and success. They celebrated the vital contributions of women to Bahrain’s development, emphasizing their remarkable accomplishments in various fields.

As part of the event, ten women-led startups were selected for the fifth cohort of the “Women in Tech” program. These startups span a wide range of industries, including e-sports, B2B marketplaces, food technology, edtech, human resources, wellness, event management, restaurant management, health technology, and corporate rewards and loyalty programs.
