Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, alongside Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, met on Tuesday to review efforts on the “Digital Pioneers” initiative. The program is designed to provide young people with advanced technology skills and boost Egypt’s digital exports as part of the country’s digital transformation efforts.
Set to open for applications after Eid Al-Fitr, the initiative will focus on training individuals in critical fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, programming, and digital design. The program is open to people of all ages and educational backgrounds across Egypt’s governorates, with the goal of cultivating a highly skilled workforce.
Minister Talaat highlighted that the training will follow a full-residency model at dedicated facilities, including the Military Academy in Heliopolis. The program will offer comprehensive technical training, language skills, personal development, and collaboration with leading local and global tech companies. Some tracks will also provide opportunities to earn master’s degrees from prestigious international universities.
The initiative aims to train 5,000 young professionals annually, with an estimated funding of EGP 4bn per year, covering accommodation, tuition, and training expenses.
President Al-Sisi emphasized the importance of a transparent, merit-based selection process to ensure the program effectively nurtures talent to meet the growing demand in Egypt’s digital job market.
