Dubai Internet City, a key enabler of the Middle East’s digital economy, will join the Dubai delegation led by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) at GITEX Asia in Singapore from April 23-25. As part of TECOM Group PJSC, Dubai Internet City will highlight the dynamism and innovation driving Dubai’s digital economy at the inaugural GITEX Asia.
For 25 years, Dubai Internet City has been a central player in digital transformation, contributing significantly to the region’s tech landscape. It currently generates 65% of Dubai’s technology sector GDP and has created over 125,000 jobs since its inception. The district has added AED 100 billion to Dubai’s GDP in the past 15 years, and its presence at GITEX Asia reaffirms its commitment to further enhancing Dubai’s status as an internationally influential tech hub.
“Digital transformation thrives through collaboration with global technology policymakers and industry leaders. GITEX Asia is a key platform to showcase the strength of Dubai’s digital economy to international peers and partners,” said Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City. He emphasized that Dubai Internet City is key to strengthening the UAE’s position as a global destination for business, investment, and innovation, in line with Dubai’s Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the UAE Digital Economy Strategy.
At GITEX Asia, Dubai Internet City will present success stories from its thriving ecosystem of over 4,000 customers, including multinational giants like IBM, Google, and Microsoft, as well as start-ups and over 31,000 professionals. The district is also home to 19 Innovation and Research & Development Centres operated by global leaders such as 3M, IBM, HP, Ericsson, and Cisco.
Joining Dubai Internet City at GITEX Asia will be in5, TECOM Group’s entrepreneurship incubator. Since its founding in 2013, in5 has supported over 1,000 start-ups in the tech, media, design, and science sectors. This collaboration at GITEX Asia will highlight their collective efforts in supporting start-ups and driving innovation across the region.
Dubai Internet City will be located at the Dubai stand, HB-C80, in Hall B of Marina Bay Sands during GITEX Asia.
