1001 has announced a strategic partnership with Almentor, a leading online learning platform, to bring Arabic-language educational content to viewers across Iraq. This collaboration marks 1001’s entry into the digital learning space by streaming curated educational courses directly through its platform.
The move represents an evolution rather than a shift for 1001, which has traditionally focused on delivering meaningful, hyper-localized entertainment content for Iraqi audiences. The new educational offerings will complement its existing catalogue of films, series, and live sports by adding accessible, high-quality learning programs designed to inform and inspire. This initiative aligns with 1001’s mission to offer content that transcends entertainment and creates real value for its viewers.
Ahmed Fahed Shagra, Chief Product Officer of 1001, said: “Education is just another way to tell a meaningful story. Our partnership with Almentor lets us expand the narrative—giving our audience access to knowledge alongside entertainment, all while staying true to who we are as a platform built for Iraq.”
Almentor offers a library of over 1,000 Arabic-language courses led by top experts in diverse fields such as business, technology, communication, psychology, and entrepreneurship. Collaborations with institutions like Nile University, CIB, and various regional governments have established Almentor as a major player in digital learning throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
The initial pilot program will target specific audience segments in Iraq, including early-career professionals, freelancers, university students, recent graduates, mid-career professionals seeking upskilling, and lifelong learners such as parents. The content will feature streamable, bite-sized courses on subjects like personal development, digital transformation, business strategy, communication, and career-building.
During the pilot phase, select user groups will receive access to these courses, with 1001 closely monitoring engagement, course completion rates, and user feedback to evaluate performance. Based on these results, the partners plan to explore broader integration and potential expansion into additional educational categories.
By combining Almentor’s expertise in education with 1001’s deep understanding of its audience, this collaboration aims to meet the evolving needs of Iraq’s digitally connected viewers, providing them with targeted learning programs tailored to the country’s rapidly evolving market.
