Yango Group has introduced Yasmina, a bilingual human-like AI assistant, to the Omani market. Integrated into Yango’s smart speaker lineup—Midi, Mini, and Lite—Yasmina offers natural voice interaction in both Arabic and English, powered by YangoAI’s advanced large language model tailored for the GCC region.
Unlike typical AI assistants, Yasmina includes features specifically designed for Omani users. Beyond music and smart home controls, it provides culturally relevant content such as accurate prayer times for Muscat, traditional Omani recipes like Shuwa, and travel tips for local attractions like Wadi Shab. Faith-based functionalities include Surah playback, Adhan notifications, and Hijri calendar dates, supporting users’ religious practices.
Yasmina also enhances education and language skills by simplifying complex topics, offering interactive storytelling, and supporting seamless Arabic-English translation—beneficial for bilingual users, students, educators, and content creators.
Islam Abdul Karim, Regional Head of Yango Group Middle East, highlighted Oman’s AI adoption momentum and the company’s commitment to delivering advanced, culturally aligned AI solutions that support Oman’s vision for technological sovereignty. The Oman Investment Authority’s technology arm praised Yasmina’s role in making AI accessible and practical for families and individuals, aligning with Oman Vision 2040.
Yasmina’s launch exemplifies Yango Group’s push for regional digital innovation by combining cutting-edge AI with local cultural needs. The smart speakers are now available in Oman’s retail and online markets, requiring a Yango Play subscription to access full features.
