Saudi Arabia to Launch ‘Allam’ – Advanced Arabic AI Model Built for Cultural and Linguistic Precision

Saudi tech company Humain is set to launch Allam, a groundbreaking Arabic-language AI model, later this month. Developed by a team of 40 Ph.D.-level researchers in the Kingdom, Allam is designed to serve the 350 million Arabic speakers worldwide, mastering classical Arabic as well as Saudi, Egyptian, Jordanian, and Lebanese dialects. It also understands cultural and political nuances, making it uniquely tailored for the Arab world.

The model will first be available via Humain Chat, a free Arabic-language app similar to ChatGPT. Backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and supported by Aramco Digital and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority’s National Center for AI, Humain aims to create a developer marketplace targeting industries such as tourism, healthcare, and government services.

CEO Tareq Amin emphasized that Allam is “proof the Arab world can innovate at a world-class level” and urged regional collaboration to create AI platforms that reflect Arab culture and values. He called the launch “the spark” to shift the Middle East from digital consumer to global creator, aligning closely with Saudi Vision 2030’s national development goals.
