Rabat — Morocco’s government is stepping up efforts to digitize public services and strengthen data transparency under the “Morocco Digital 2030” roadmap, aiming to modernize administration and improve citizen access to key services.
Speaking before parliament, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni outlined several major initiatives underway to digitize government processes and build a unified digital ecosystem. The ministry is currently drafting new legislation to regulate the digitization of public services and introduce open data laws that ensure transparency and data accessibility.
“We are laying the groundwork for a modern, efficient, and citizen-centered digital administration,” El Fallah said, noting that digital transformation will enhance both service quality and public trust.
Expanding Digital Access Across Key Sectors
According to the minister, multiple government agencies are already working with the Digital Transition Ministry to streamline services through automation and online portals.
- Education: Students can now register for the baccalaureate exam online, while parents can enroll their children in schools through digital platforms.
- Transport & Licensing: Citizens can transfer vehicle ownership and apply for childcare facility licenses electronically.
- Business & Finance: Companies can access online platforms for business tax support and income tax benefits, particularly those in the outsourcing and technology sectors.
A national registry of digital services currently lists more than 600 online government services, while a data-sharing platform connects ministries and agencies to exchange information efficiently. The government is also preparing to launch a digital account platform to unify access across departments.
Investing in Infrastructure and Data Quality
El Fallah noted that public institutions are working to upgrade databases and digital infrastructure, with financial support provided to accelerate digitization projects. To ensure service quality, new systems have been implemented to monitor and evaluate digital service performance, creating accountability for continuous improvement.
Aligning with Morocco’s Vision 2030 and FIFA World Cup Goals
The minister stressed that these efforts align with Morocco’s broader digital vision for 2030, coinciding with the country’s co-hosting of the FIFA 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. The overarching goal, she said, is to build a connected, efficient, and transparent administration that supports economic development, entrepreneurship, and citizen engagement.
“These initiatives are not just about technology—they are about bringing the administration closer to people,” El Fallah concluded.
