UN praises UAE’s leadership in digital transformation

The United Nations has commended the UAE for its Arab Digital Economy vision, describing it as a leading model for regional technological progress. Launched under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and adopted by the Arab League at the 2022 Arab Leaders Summit in Algeria, the vision provides a strategic roadmap to accelerate digital transformation across the Arab world.

Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, highlighted the UAE’s role as a key supporter of regional and global digital development. Speaking at the Knowledge Summit in Dubai, he noted that the country’s forward-looking policies and innovative initiatives have positioned it at the forefront of the digital economy.

He added that the Arab Digital Economy vision represents a crucial step toward unified Arab cooperation, helping nations build integrated digital ecosystems capable of adapting to rapid global technological changes.
