Muscat’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has announced that mobile number portability will be suspended across all telecom providers from Monday, August 18. The temporary halt will allow for the migration to a new Central Number Portability System.
The upgraded system is designed to improve service quality, accelerate digital transformation, and enhance competition in Oman’s telecom sector. It will continue to enable customers to keep their existing numbers while benefiting from improved network services.
The TRA advised subscribers to finalise any pending number portability requests before the suspension date to avoid delays when the service resumes under the new system.
