The Jordan Economic Forum has called for intensified efforts to integrate digital technology across various sectors to strengthen the national economy. In a report titled “Indicators of Digital Competitiveness,” the forum emphasized the importance of enhancing digital capabilities and fostering innovation as vital drivers of sustainable development and global competitiveness.
The forum urged the implementation of comprehensive support programs to help Jordanian institutions adopt digitalization in their production and service operations. This shift is expected to improve operational efficiency, boost productivity, and promote sustainable economic growth, benefiting society as a whole.
The forum also highlighted the need for significant investment in research, development, and digital skills to unlock new business opportunities and elevate Jordan’s position in the global economy.
Khair Abu Suleik, Chairman of the Forum, stressed the importance of supportive policies and investment in technological infrastructure to achieve digital transformation. He noted that while Jordan has made progress, ranking 45th globally in future readiness, there is still a need to enhance technical skills and research capabilities.
Abu Suleik called for ongoing collaboration between the government and private sector to further improve Jordan’s digital competitiveness and secure a sustainable and prosperous future for the nation’s economy.
