Zain has unveiled the latest edition of its renowned tech startup accelerator program, Zain Great Idea (ZGI), in collaboration with Rasameel Investment Company. This year’s program continues Zain’s decade-long mission of fostering sustainable growth and investment opportunities for entrepreneurs in Kuwait and the wider region.
The launch event, held at Zain’s headquarters in Shuwaikh, featured prominent figures including Waleed Al-Khashti, Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer of Zain Kuwait, Dakhil Al-Dakhil, CEO of Rasameel Investment Company, and Haya Al-Mana, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Expert at Zain Kuwait. The event also saw participation from entrepreneurs and representatives of the local entrepreneurship community.
Waleed Al-Khashti highlighted the program’s success over the past 14 years, emphasizing its role in connecting ambitious startups with global tech companies and providing them with first-hand experiences in places like Silicon Valley. This year, Zain Ventures, the venture capital arm of Zain Group, will explore investments in participating tech startups, particularly those aligned with strategic directions such as fintech, digital innovations, and e-services.
Dakhil Al-Dakhil expressed Rasameel’s commitment to supporting startups in Kuwait and globally, emphasizing the importance of partnerships across different sectors to achieve common goals. He also noted that Rasameel is working on digital initiatives, including the myRasameel platform, to enhance operational performance in the markets they serve.
The ZGI program is open to entrepreneurs with ambitious ideas, early-stage projects, or startups, particularly in sectors like fintech, e-commerce, AI, digital solutions, and edtech. After the registration period, selected participants will join a three-week bootcamp offering workshops, mentoring sessions, and discussions with industry experts.
The program culminates in an international accelerator in Silicon Valley, where participants will pitch their ideas, connect with investors, and gain a deep understanding of the global entrepreneurship ecosystem. The final stage, ZGI Demo Day, will allow startups to present their growth plans to potential investors and business partners.
Zain Ventures, a pillar of Zain Group’s ‘4Sight’ strategy, will continue to explore opportunities in venture capital, fintech, and digital innovations, offering support to promising startups and expanding its reach across the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
