Jordan Launches “Eye Locate” Technology to Safeguard Alzheimer’s Patients

Under the patronage of HRH Princess Muna Al Hussein, the Alzheimer’s Patients’ Aid Society has launched the innovative “Eye Locate” technology, a world-first initiative designed to locate dementia and Alzheimer’s patients who wander from home. Developed in collaboration with the Public Security Department, IrisGuard, and NatHealth, this advanced iris recognition system enables Public Security personnel to swiftly identify and reunite patients with their caregivers using mobile devices.

Princess Muna, Honorary Ambassador for Alzheimer’s Disease International, commended the initiative, emphasizing its significance in utilizing technology for public welfare and offering hope to families affected by dementia worldwide.

NatHealth Board Member Ahmed Tijani highlighted the secure registration process for patient data, ensuring privacy while supporting Alzheimer’s research. IrisGuard CEO Imad Malhas elaborated on the technology’s integration with mobile devices, underscoring its transformative potential for public safety and healthcare.

An explanatory video was presented at the launch, detailing the process of locating, protecting, and reuniting patients with their families.
