Samsung Electronics Eyes Egypt as a Regional Hub for Electronics Production and Exports

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El Khatib, recently met with Jun Su Jung, Head of Samsung Electronics’ factory in Beni Suef, to discuss the company’s current investments and future expansion plans in the Egyptian market.

During the meeting, Jun Su Jung highlighted Samsung’s ambition to transform Egypt into a regional hub for electronics production and exports, targeting markets in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. He noted that 85% of the factory’s television production is already being exported to over 55 countries. The Beni Suef facility has generated around 5,000 direct and indirect job opportunities in Upper Egypt.

El Khatib emphasized the factory’s impressive annual production capacity, which currently stands at 6 million units, including televisions, mobile phones, and tablets.
