Orange Jordan proudly sponsored the 14th Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) 2024 as the exclusive telecommunications partner. The prestigious biennial event, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, began at the Aqaba International Exhibition & Convention Centre (AIECC) and will run until September 5.
In renewing their strategic partnership, Orange Jordan and SOFEX solidified their collaboration through an agreement signed by Brigadier General Eng. Ayman Ahmad Al-Batran, Vice President of SOFEX’s board of directors, and Philippe Mansour, CEO of Orange Jordan. The signing took place in the presence of the SOFEX Executive Committee, marking a continuation of their long-standing relationship.
As part of this partnership, Orange Jordan provided SOFEX 2024 with comprehensive telecommunications services, including cutting-edge 5G mobile and Wi-Fi network solutions. These services were aimed at enhancing the visitor and participant experience, particularly in exploring advancements in defense technology.
Orange Jordan also participated with an engaging booth that highlighted a variety of advanced defense technology products and services. The booth served as a platform for visitors and companies to explore the company’s wide range of security solutions, supported by its advanced digital infrastructure and market-leading internet speeds.
Brigadier General Eng. Ayman Ahmad Al-Batran emphasized the vital role Orange Jordan plays in advancing Jordan’s telecommunications sector, aligning with global technological trends. He expressed his gratitude for Orange’s continued support of SOFEX, acknowledging its belief that defense technology is a key component of the broader technological landscape, especially as rapid innovations reshape the industry.
Philippe Mansour, CEO of Orange Jordan, described SOFEX as a significant event in the company’s 20-year partnership with the Jordanian Armed Forces and Security agencies. This collaboration, he noted, is a source of pride for Orange and reflects its commitment to national initiatives that position Jordan as a regional technology hub. He further highlighted how supporting SOFEX contributes to raising awareness of defense technology’s growing importance in today’s world.
Deputy CEO and Chief Enterprise Officer of Orange Jordan, Eng. Sami Smeirat, reinforced that Orange’s sponsorship of SOFEX is part of its ongoing commitment to the values represented by this event. He noted that the company’s participation underscores its dedication to providing international-standard services and experiences for all attendees.
In addition to telecommunications services, Orange Jordan also showcased digital innovations developed through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. These efforts, implemented under the Orange Digital Centers (ODC), included the display of the “MARS-JO Rover,” a device manufactured in their Fabrication Labs for educational purposes.
Orange-supported startups also took part in the event, such as Manara Research and Development, a company specialized in manufacturing custom electronic devices and solutions. Manara, a participant in Orange’s Accelerator in Zarqa, interacted with visitors, alongside Orange’s partner, Trismart International Trading, a leading provider of protective devices in Jordan.
This year’s SOFEX provided an exceptional platform for Orange Jordan to not only strengthen its partnership with the defense sector but also to demonstrate its leadership in providing cutting-edge telecommunications and security solutions in Jordan.
