Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – During the Global AI Summit, the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO) unveiled its ambitious Generative AI (GenAI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) initiative. This initiative aims to elevate DCO Member States to the forefront of global GenAI innovation by promoting collaborative efforts and ensuring sustainable, inclusive growth.
DCO Secretary-General, Deemah AlYahya, expressed pride in the launch, stating, “It is a profound honor to spearhead the Generative AI Centre of Excellence, a pioneering venture led by the DCO and championed by Saudi Arabia. This initiative embodies our commitment to harnessing the potential of multilateral cooperation to thrive in the GenAI era.”
The initiative’s core is a multilateral framework designed to transform DCO Member States from mere consumers to active producers of GenAI technology. This framework aims to foster access, collaboration, and the transition of member states into global leaders in GenAI innovation and intellectual property hubs.
AlYahya further highlighted the benefits of the GenAI CoE, which include fostering inclusive collaboration among governments, the private sector, and academia. The initiative is set to catalyze innovation by turning member states into creators of GenAI solutions, enhancing local capacities, and driving significant increases in intellectual property and innovation.
Through the GenAI Centre of Excellence, the DCO is committed to advancing AI capabilities across its member nations, bridging technological divides, and enhancing collaboration. This effort aims to create an inclusive AI future, positioning every participating country as a leader in the global AI landscape.
