UAE defence technology company EDGE Group has unveiled FADA, a new company focused on developing space capabilities and manufacturing satellite technologies within the UAE. Derived from the Arabic word for “space,” FADA will drive sovereign space capabilities through national and international partnerships, utilizing Transfer of Technology (ToT) and Transfer of Knowledge (ToK).
FADA’s mission aligns with the UAE’s goals of transitioning to a knowledge-based economy and advancing economic diversification. The company will bolster the UAE’s standing in the global space industry while expanding EDGE’s portfolio with next-generation solutions.
FADA will build facilities for the development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing of satellite systems and subsystems. Additionally, it aims to create a sustainable, skilled workforce dedicated to space technology in the UAE.
Waleid Al Mesmari, President of Space & Cyber Technologies, emphasized that FADA will pioneer advanced technologies while fostering a specialized space-focused workforce.
