Riyadh Airports Company (RAC), which operates King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh, has entered into a strategic partnership with global technology leader SAP to overhaul its procurement processes. This collaboration is set to introduce intelligent purchasing management solutions to modernize and enhance RAC’s procurement system and supplier interactions.

Recognizing the need to upgrade its procurement operations to maintain its leading position in the aviation sector, RAC has chosen SAP for its proven expertise in aviation procurement technology. The initiative will be centered around the implementation of SAP Ariba, known for its robust spend management capabilities that incorporate supplier information, lifecycle, performance, and risk management all in one platform.

With SAP Ariba’s Strategic Sourcing Suite, RAC will benefit from features like global contract management, support for multiple currencies, and streamlined compliance management, fostering a more efficient and collaborative environment with its suppliers. This integration aims to unify procurement activities across various departments, enhancing operational efficiencies throughout the airport.

Adopting SAP Ariba will not only simplify our processes but also bring significant time savings for our staff and suppliers, thereby improving the overall airport experience for millions of passengers.”

Fahd Nawwab, Vice President of SAP Saudi Arabia, commented on the partnership, “Riyadh Airports Company is at the forefront of operational efficiency and global connectivity. Through SAP Ariba, we are equipped to provide tailored real-time insights and support global collaboration that aligns with RAC’s expansive operational needs.”
