Bayanat, a leader in AI-powered geospatial solutions, has entered a strategic partnership with Vay, a provider of teledriving (remote driving) technology, to advance autonomous mobility solutions. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to unlock teledriving technology across the Middle East, Africa, and select Asia Pacific countries, driving innovation in smart mobility.
As part of this collaboration, Bayanat and Vay will launch a joint research and development arm focused on expanding next-generation autonomous technology. By leveraging Bayanat’s operational infrastructure, geospatial data, and AI-powered insights alongside Vay’s expertise in teledriving, the partnership aims to address the growing demand for advanced mobility solutions and autonomous vehicles globally.
Bayanat’s smart mobility solutions are powered by GIQ, an AI-enabled platform that integrates space and ground data to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. Vay’s teledriving technology allows trained remote drivers to deliver vehicles directly to customers. This innovative system offers a sustainable, door-to-door service that reduces costs by half compared to traditional ride-hailing services.
Vay has been a pioneer in the field, launching its first commercial teledriving service in Las Vegas and being the first company in Europe to operate teledriven cars on public roads without a safety driver. This technology aligns with their mission to create more livable, sustainable cities by optimizing the use of electric fleets and reducing the number of cars on the road.
Hasan Al Hosani, Managing Director of Bayanat, stated, “Our collaboration with Vay will tackle the challenges of teledriving and push the pace of innovation in the industry. By combining our AI-powered mobility solutions with Vay’s technology, we aim to deliver scalable, advanced solutions that enhance transportation efficiency and foster safer, sustainable urban mobility experiences.”
Thomas von der Ohe, co-founder and CEO of Vay, added, “Teledriving, combined with Bayanat’s AI-powered platform, will enhance cost-effectiveness and improve the overall experience for all stakeholders involved in autonomous vehicle operations.”
This partnership is part of Bayanat’s broader strategy to expand the application of its AI-powered geospatial capabilities, following key alliances with global firms to advance smart mobility and autonomous vehicle applications, particularly in Abu Dhabi.
