A recent interruption in the Falcon submarine cable, which is operated by GCX and connects Saudi Arabia to Kuwait, has led to widespread internet service disruptions across Kuwait. The disruption occurred in international waters, as reported by Kuwait’s General Authority for Communications and Information Technology.
According to Al Qabas newspaper, the incident has impacted national internet connectivity. In response, technical teams are collaborating with local service providers and coordinating efforts with GCX and the communication authority to implement contingency plans. These measures include rerouting data through alternative international cables to maintain internet service continuity throughout the region.
