Zain Bahrain, a pioneer in the Kingdom’s telecommunications sector, has announced a landmark achievement with the introduction of the latest generation Dual Band Massive MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) radios. This marks the first time such technology has been deployed in the region, significantly enhancing the quality and efficiency of mobile connectivity for its customers.
The newly introduced AIR 3229 model features a dual-band TDD Antenna Integrated Radio unit with 32 transmitters and 32 receivers per band (B78/B41), designed to support two frequency bands within a single unit. This integration facilitates more rapid and efficient expansions of 5G and 4G networks without the need for additional antennas, streamlining installations and optimizing space usage in urban environments.
Zain Bahrain’s commitment to innovation is further demonstrated by the operational efficiencies gained with this technology. The radios’ passive cooling system not only reduces maintenance demands but also boosts energy efficiency by up to 20% compared to traditional setups involving separate radio components. This approach not only enhances performance but also supports Zain Bahrain’s goals for sustainability and reduced emissions.
Ali Isa, CTO of Zain Bahrain, expressed enthusiasm about the deployment: “We are excited to be the regional frontrunners in adopting Dual Band Massive MIMO technology. This advanced solution significantly boosts our network’s capacity and efficiency, underlining our dedication to delivering the best possible mobile experience to our customers.”
Zain Bahrain remains committed to continuous investment in state-of-the-art technology to expand its network capabilities and provide unparalleled connectivity and services to its customers.
