Core42, a G42 company specializing in sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure and services, has announced a collaboration with AMD to trial AI, machine learning, and explore confidential compute technologies for cloud deployments.
The agreement was formalized at Gitex Global 2024 in Dubai, where representatives from both Core42 and AMD signed the partnership. It will commence with a proof-of-concept evaluation of AMD Instinct accelerators using Core42’s production workloads.
“At Core42, we recognize that security is the new frontier of performance. We strive to enable businesses with confidential compute to process sensitive data with unparalleled protection, redefining what it means to be a high-performing system in the digital age,” stated Adrian Hobbs, CTO of Core42.
He added, “By partnering with AMD, we’re enabling our customers to achieve robust security without compromising on speed or functionality—a true hallmark of next-generation computing.”
This collaboration aims to accelerate technology deployment for businesses across the UAE and internationally, focusing on areas such as AI, predictive analytics, machine learning, cloud transformation and strategy, and end-user device engagement.
Zaid Ghattas, META Senior Commercial Lead at AMD, commented, “This agreement with Core42 highlights our commitment to helping customers and partners leverage AI to meet their business needs. AMD will work with Core42 to empower businesses with exceptional compute performance to accelerate digital transformation.”
The partnership reflects Core42’s strategy to equip customers to thrive in the AI-driven era by providing best-in-class solutions. AMD Instinct accelerators are designed for leadership performance in data centers, supporting a range of workloads from single-server solutions to Exascale-class supercomputers. They offer high memory density, high bandwidth memory, and support for specialized data formats, making them ideal for demanding AI and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.
