Riyadh: A significant strategic partnership has been established between the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) and stc TV to enhance the licensing and distribution of broadcast content. The agreement, aimed at enriching the Saudi media landscape, was signed by Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, CEO of SBA, and Turki Al-Nuaim, Vice President of Growth Services at stc Group, in Riyadh.
Representatives from both organizations, including Turki Al-Otaibi, Director of the Digital Archive Center for SBA, and Kholoud Abu Homos, Vice President of Content at stc Group, formalized the partnership which allows stc tv digital app and home receivers to broadcast SBA Network channels. This arrangement ensures viewers have access to high-definition content across multiple platforms.
This collaboration not only aims to bolster the value of Saudi content but also to expand viewing choices for audiences, thereby fostering a more vibrant media environment in the Middle East. Additionally, the SBA-managed “Sayma” platform, which houses an extensive archive of over 1.2 million visual and audio materials, documents significant historical moments in Saudi Arabia over the last 60 years.
The partnership is set to highlight and promote the rich media heritage of Saudi Arabia, making it more accessible to a broader audience.
