The new agreement will enable du to enhance its state-of-the-art 5G advanced network by incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as enhanced mobile broadband, advanced 5G carrier aggregation, network slicing, massive IoT connectivity through reduced capability (RedCAP), and edge computing. These advancements will ensure the network is future-ready, capable of supporting innovative use cases for both consumer and enterprise customers.
As part of this deployment, du will utilize Nokia’s industry-leading 5G AirScale Radio Access Network (RAN) portfolio, which includes baseband units, Massive MIMO Habrok radios, and Remote Radio Head products. This deployment is designed to provide superior capacity and coverage even in challenging environments, while also delivering enhanced energy efficiency to meet the growing demand for 5G services, aligning with du’s ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030.
