Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a leading digital service provider, has successfully concluded its sponsorship and participation in the 3rd edition of the Watheefti career fair. The event took place at the Arena Kuwait in 360, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Nader Abdullah Mohammed Al-Jallal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and acting Minister of Education.
The opening ceremony was attended by key figures, including the Minister, Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Mathkoor, Acting Chief Human Resources Officer at stc, and Danah AlJasem, General Manager of Corporate Communications, along with other senior officials from stc and various sectors. During the event, stc welcomed the Minister at its booth, discussing the company’s pivotal role in the communications and information technology sector and its commitment to attracting Kuwaiti talent to the private sector.
The Watheefti career fair drew over 30,000 attendees and featured more than 120 participating companies from 14 different industries. The event included 40 workshops on various topics designed to help candidates build their careers, alongside 20 conferences led by local and international industry leaders. Representatives from stc conducted workshops and participated in panel discussions, addressing career choices and opportunities in the private sector.
The panel discussion titled “How to Build a Professional Career in the Private Sector” featured stc team members Meshal Al Rowayeh, Fuad Al Bahar, Mohammad AlRashdan, Omar Al Kandari, and Farah Jaafar. Stc’s recruitment team was also on hand at the company’s booth, offering insights into available job opportunities and assisting students and recent graduates in submitting their resumes.
Abdulaziz Al-Mathkoor, Acting CHRO at stc, emphasized the importance of career fairs in empowering individuals and strengthening the community by connecting job seekers with opportunities that stimulate economic growth. “At stc, we believe creating job opportunities not only benefits the economy but also paves the way for personal and professional growth,” he stated, highlighting the company’s commitment to participating in initiatives like the Watheefti career fair.
Through its involvement, stc aimed to enhance its commitment to attracting Kuwaiti talent in line with the Kuwaitization law and its strategic approach to empowering the younger generation. The fair provided stc’s Human Resources team with the opportunity to meet job seekers face-to-face and discuss potential career opportunities with the telecom pioneer.
Al-Mathkoor expressed gratitude to the event organizers and emphasized stc’s ongoing initiatives to support recent graduates, including internships and talent incubation programs. These programs challenge graduates to showcase their skills and provide valuable on-the-job training. Those who excelled were offered job opportunities, demonstrating their fit for the dynamic work environment at stc.
