AL AIN: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has officially launched its Artificial Intelligence Agenda for 2025-2031, aimed at enhancing its academic and research programs.
The launch event was attended by Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of UAEU, along with various academic and administrative personnel and faculty members.
In his address, Nusseibeh highlighted that the unveiling of UAEU’s AI Agenda aligns with the UAE Cabinet’s endorsement of the nation’s AI policy on an international scale. “This significant step reflects our unwavering commitment to elevating the university’s status as a leading institution in higher education, research, and community service while embracing modern technologies,” he stated.
He emphasized that UAEU will maintain its leadership as a top educational institution, focusing on equipping the next generation with the essential technical and technological skills needed to make a positive impact on society and the world.
The Chancellor noted that the UAE’s wise leadership is proactive in anticipating the future, positioning the nation among the world leaders in AI. This progress has been facilitated through various integrated strategies and initiatives, including the UAE’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, which is a key project within the UAE Centennial 2071 plan, the appointment of the world’s first Minister of AI, and the establishment of an innovative environment for advanced technologies.
Dr. Fekri Kharbash, Acting Dean of the College of Information Technology, provided a detailed overview of the pillars and goals of the UAEU AI Agenda. These goals include enhancing the university’s role as a comprehensive academic and research institution, fostering an innovative environment grounded in advanced technologies, and positioning the university at the forefront of institutions integrating AI with education, academic research, and administrative operations.
