TDRA Celebrates Success of Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme in the UAE

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) recently held a ceremony at its headquarters to honor participants involved in the development and implementation of the first round of the Zero Government Bureaucracy (ZGB) Programme. This initiative aims to enhance efficiency and flexibility in government service delivery, contributing to a significant shift in how government work is conducted and improving the overall customer experience.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Eng. Mohammed Al Ramsi, Deputy Director-General of the Telecommunications Sector at TDRA and General Coordinator of the programme, highlighted the importance of the ZGB Programme in realizing the visionary goals of the UAE’s leadership. He emphasized the need for a bureaucracy-free digital government that streamlines formalities to ensure more efficient and seamless service delivery. “The ZGB Programme is a strategic step towards increasing government work efficiency and significantly enhancing customer experience. This initiative not only saves time and effort but also strengthens the UAE’s global competitiveness by offering simplified and fast-tracked government services,” he stated.

H.E. Al Ramsi acknowledged the collaboration with customers and partners from both the public and private sectors, noting that more than 20 services and processes had been successfully developed during the programme’s first cycle. The delivery time for many services has been significantly reduced—by up to 80%—demonstrating a commitment to innovating government operations through advanced technologies.

He praised the program as a vital step in achieving comprehensive digital transformation in the UAE. Notable services developed under this initiative include Internet of Things (IoT) services registration, “Customs Release Permits for Telecom Devices,” and the amateur (ham) radio permit service, among others.

The ceremony featured an overview of the ZGB programme’s results, showcasing reductions in turnaround times by 50-80% through the use of AI, IoT, and digital identity technologies. These advancements have improved customer experience and work efficiency.

The event concluded with the recognition of employees, partners, and customers who contributed to the programme’s success during its first cycle. TDRA expressed appreciation for these efforts and called for continued teamwork to unlock further achievements. The organization reiterated its commitment to developing additional services and processes to realize the UAE’s vision of becoming a global model for digital governance.

The ZGB Programme marks a significant milestone in the UAE government’s digital transformation journey, aiming for greater efficiency and swiftness in government formalities, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and boosting the country’s competitiveness at both regional and global levels.
