The UAE’s energy giant, ADNOC, is leading the way in utilizing highly autonomous agentic AI within the energy sector through a partnership with G42, Microsoft, and AIQ, as announced by CEO Sultan Al Jaber at an industry event in Abu Dhabi. This initiative is part of a broader UAE strategy aimed at reducing reliance on oil, with G42 receiving a significant $1.5 billion investment from Microsoft to support the nation’s technology industry diversification.
Agentic AI, regarded as the future of artificial intelligence, enables systems to operate independently and make proactive decisions. According to Al Jaber, this advanced AI will greatly enhance operations by analyzing vast amounts of data, reducing seismic survey times from months to days, and improving production forecasts by as much as 90%.
The UAE government is investing billions in AI initiatives, including the development of regional language-specific chatbots, positioning the Gulf state to maintain its economic influence as global oil demand declines.
