Pure Data Centres, a leading global data centre infrastructure provider, and Dune Vaults, an innovative digital infrastructure platform, have announced a joint venture aimed at developing hyperscale data centres in Saudi Arabia. This partnership will create multiple 100+ MW-capacity campuses, positioning the venture as one of the largest data centre providers in the region, catering to the rising demand from both local and international customers.
Saudi Arabia is rapidly becoming the fastest-growing data centre market in the Middle East, driven by the government’s digitalisation efforts, a ‘Cloud First’ policy, and a favorable regulatory environment. With the rise of mega and giga projects and the increasing demand for AI and cloud services, the demand for data centres is expected to surge. Additionally, the country benefits from stable, low-cost, renewable energy, abundant land, and government support for developing the technology and AI sectors.
The joint venture marks a key milestone for Pure Data Centres as it expands its footprint in the region. The new facilities will provide secure, low-latency connections to support real-time applications and the growing demand for AI technology. Pure Data Centres is backed by Oaktree Capital Management, a leading global investment manager specializing in alternative investments.
Dune Vaults, supported by prominent Saudi investors, aims to diversify its portfolio and address the increasing demand for wholesale data centre services. The joint venture will focus on developing critical data centre infrastructure to solidify Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional leader in digital transformation.
Faisal AlRahbiny, Founder & MD of Dune Vaults, stated, “We are committed to building over 1,000 MW of sustainable data centre capacity in Saudi Arabia, supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 digital transformation goals. This partnership with Pure DC will help meet the needs of global hyperscalers, accelerating digitisation and economic growth.”
Dame Dawn Childs, CEO of Pure DC, emphasized, “Data centres are the engines for innovation, and in Dune Vaults, we have a partner with the ambition and expertise to solve future challenges. This partnership will support our expansion in one of the fastest-growing data centre markets.”
