The MENA ICT Forum 2024, held at the Dead Sea, concluded on Thursday, presenting vital recommendations to foster regional cooperation and enhance global competitiveness in the technology sector. The forum gathered around 3,000 participants from 40 countries, providing a significant platform for industry leaders, tech experts, and entrepreneurs to share ideas and strategies for digital growth, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The key recommendations from the forum emphasized innovation in financial technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital transformation within the public sector. Discussions also highlighted the need for stronger entrepreneurship, enhanced education, and technical training to support regional collaboration.
Nidal Bitar, CEO of the Information and Communication Technology Association of Jordan (int@j), underscored the importance of these recommendations, noting they provide a clear roadmap for advancing the region’s technology sector. He emphasized that cooperation among companies of all sizes is crucial for developing technologies that can compete on a global scale.
Bitar also highlighted the need to invest in research and development, particularly in fields like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, to ensure sustainable growth aligned with global trends. He pointed out that preparing the workforce for future labor market demands presents both challenges and opportunities. Bitar stressed that robust cybersecurity measures are essential in the face of rapid digital transformation, as secure digital environments are key to maintaining user trust in digital services.
