Orange Jordan highlighted its commitment to fostering innovation and supporting entrepreneurship during its participation in the 10th edition of the MENA ICT Forum, organized by the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (INT@J). The forum, held at the Dead Sea, brought together over 3,000 visitors from the region and beyond, themed “Synergy in Innovation: Navigating the Future of ICT in MENA.”
At the event, Orange Jordan showcased a range of projects implemented under the umbrella of its Orange Digital Centers (ODC), including educational innovations like the “MARS-JO Rover.” Built at the Fabrication Lab in Irbid, the rover is designed for educational purposes, simulating space exploration and Martian environment studies. The company also highlighted its ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurs and startups, with participants from the BIG by Orange program and the Orange AI Incubator engaging in Startup Village Arabia. These startups presented their innovative products, exchanged knowledge with experts, and sought investments.
During the event, His Excellency, Eng. Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, visited the Orange booth and was briefed on the company’s innovative projects, which are helping to transform Jordan’s digital landscape. Orange Jordan also introduced its virtual hospital project, designed at the Innovation Hub in Amman. This groundbreaking initiative uses augmented reality technology to enhance healthcare services, improving the patient experience and making healthcare more efficient for both doctors and patients.
Orange also showcased projects from its Summer Challenge 2024, including the ARFL (which helps fill street potholes), the SAVERBOT (which assists rescue teams during disasters), and the Deep-Sea Explorer (an advanced water drone used for exploring and photographing aquatic environments). These projects reflect the company’s commitment to driving technological innovation across various sectors.
As the telecom partner for the MENA ICT Forum 2024, Orange Jordan reinforced its role in shaping the future of ICT in the MENA region by supporting the event and its participants, positioning the company at the forefront of digital transformation and innovation.
