stc Group and Huawei Launch SuperLink to Enhance 5G Connectivity in Remote Areas of Saudi Arabia

stc Group and Huawei have launched SuperLink, a groundbreaking digital solution designed to improve 5G network connectivity in remote regions across Saudi Arabia. This new solution offers a 200% faster 5G connection compared to the previous 5G tower model, while minimizing the infrastructure footprint and reducing energy consumption.

SuperLink is a multi-band wireless transmission solution that combines several frequency bands into a high-capacity, long-distance link, eliminating the deployment challenges associated with previous 5G models. It accelerates 5G development in remote areas, offering fast and efficient connectivity without the need for extensive tower infrastructure.

The commercial launch of SuperLink marks a significant milestone in stc Group’s mission to bridge the digital divide and provide high-speed, reliable connectivity across the Kingdom. The solution supports the company’s sustainability agenda by minimizing its infrastructure footprint and energy consumption.

Compared to traditional single-band solutions, SuperLink reduces the number of antennas by 67%, significantly enhancing the deployment efficiency of new 5G towers and lowering tower rental costs. This launch aligns with stc Group’s commitment to delivering world-class connectivity in Saudi Arabia.

Abdullateef A. Alsenan, Infrastructure Design General Manager at stc Group, stated, “SuperLink addresses the challenges of long-haul and large-capacity microwave hardware stacking, simplifying deployment, increasing bandwidth, and providing reliable 5G connectivity to remote areas. This technology allows stc Group to extend cutting-edge broadband services to more areas of the Kingdom, bridging the urban-rural digital divide.”
