Asyad Group and Omantel Launch ASYAD Accelerator to Foster Innovation in Oman’s Logistics Sector

Asyad Group, Oman’s leading integrated logistics provider, has teamed up with Omantel Innovation Labs to launch the ASYAD Accelerator programme, a strategic initiative aimed at boosting competitiveness in Oman’s logistics sector. The programme is focused on nurturing local tech startups and driving innovation to enhance operational efficiency within Oman’s logistics ecosystem.

The ASYAD Accelerator has attracted numerous tech startups and entrepreneurial ideas with strong potential to advance the supply chain, particularly in the cold chain industry. A press statement revealed that 29 startups were selected after a rigorous evaluation process, bringing together a pool of talented entrepreneurs ready to make significant contributions to the industry.

Over the past two months, the accelerator has conducted an intensive bootcamp for the selected startups. The sessions combined theoretical and practical components, covering essential topics such as business model development, customer profiling, market assessment, financial planning, project management, product development, and investor pitch techniques. These workshops empowered participants to refine their business ideas and prepare for market entry.

Following an evaluation of the top ideas presented in the workshops, 20 startups advanced to a final review phase, where a panel of experts from Asyad Group, Omantel, and specialists from both the public and private sectors assessed the projects. The evaluation focused on market needs, financial sustainability, and technical feasibility, ensuring alignment with Oman’s logistics priorities. Four startups were selected to join the ASYAD Accelerator, recognized for their scalability, market expansion potential, and innovative solutions.

Khalfan bin Khamis al Khusaibi, In-Country Value lead at Asyad Group, praised the participating startups for their dedication and capability, stating that selection for the ASYAD Accelerator marks a transformative step in their entrepreneurial journey. He emphasized the importance of continued support to help these startups bring value to Oman’s logistics sector and the national economy.

The selected startups include eHissab, ILab Marine, Morpho Pharmaceutical, and Sayyar, each offering unique digital solutions aimed at solving logistics challenges.

The success of the ASYAD Accelerator highlights Asyad Group and Omantel’s commitment to empowering Omani entrepreneurs and advancing technological innovation in line with Oman’s Vision 2040. By investing in local talent and promoting sustainable digital solutions, the programme supports the growth of Oman’s logistics sector and positions the country as a regional hub for innovation.

Asyad and Omantel are dedicated to providing ongoing support to the startups both during and after the programme, fostering collaborative networks and helping these companies redefine logistics operations in Oman and beyond.
