Batelco, a key member of the Beyon Group, has partnered with Almoayyed Contracting Group to build Bahrain’s first-ever White Space Data Center. This groundbreaking facility will be strategically located within the Beyon Data Oasis, adjacent to a scalable solar farm, underscoring the project’s focus on sustainability and innovation.
The new White Space Data Center will serve a diverse range of customers, including cloud service providers, AI-driven platforms, content delivery networks, internet exchanges, and global submarine cable systems. The center will utilize cutting-edge technologies to meet the evolving needs of these industries, as stated by Beyon.
Once completed, the center will be the largest and most power-dense facility in Bahrain, offering high availability, redundancy, and industry-leading energy efficiency. Batelco’s Chief Global Business Officer, Hani Askar, expressed excitement about partnering with Almoayyed Contracting Group for this ambitious project. “The facility’s modular design will offer flexible, scalable infrastructure to meet the high-density and sophisticated demands of our clients,” he said. Askar further emphasized that the center aligns with Batelco’s strategic goal of establishing a robust digital infrastructure, positioning the company as a leader in Bahrain’s digital transformation.
Almoayyed Contracting Group’s Director and CEO, MT Mathews, highlighted that the White Space Data Center will integrate sustainability practices, using the adjacent solar farm to provide a greener and more energy-efficient approach to data center operations. “We are proud to contribute to this important project, which will significantly advance Bahrain’s telecommunications landscape and add to the Kingdom’s growing digital technology infrastructure,” he stated.
This new data center is a critical step in supporting the expansion of Bahrain’s digital sector and aligns with the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030, ensuring that Batelco remains future-ready to meet the demands of the digital age.
