Paymob Integrates Apple Pay in Egypt, Advancing the Nation’s Digital Payments Ecosystem

Paymob, a leader in MENA’s fintech space, has enabled Egyptian merchants to accept Apple Pay, marking a significant step in Egypt’s digital payment transformation. This integration introduces a secure, contactless payment method for consumers using iPhones, iPads, and Macs, solidifying Paymob’s position as a key player in Egypt’s digital economy.

Mina Makar, Paymob’s VP of Product, described the integration as a pivotal moment for Egypt’s payments landscape. “Merchants now have access to a globally beloved payment solution, and at Paymob, we are committed to driving growth in Egypt’s digital economy,” he said.

Founded in 2015, Paymob specializes in end-to-end payment solutions, offering over 50 methods for businesses of all sizes. Competing with companies like Fawry and Geidea, Paymob stands out by consistently pushing technological boundaries, including being the first company to secure Egypt’s Payments Facilitator license from the Central Bank.

The partnership with Apple Pay not only reflects the evolution of Egypt’s financial ecosystem but also addresses increasing consumer demand for digital convenience. Apple Pay’s global adoption has been linked to reduced cart abandonment, faster transactions, and enhanced user experiences.

The integration supports Egypt’s Vision 2030, aiming to improve financial inclusion and advance the digital economy. According to Statista, Egypt’s digital payments market is projected to grow at an annual rate of 15%, establishing the country as a leading fintech hub in the region.

This integration is a game-changer for Egyptian commerce, simplifying both online and in-store payments and enabling merchants to meet international standards. It builds customer trust and loyalty, positioning Paymob to redefine digital payments in Egypt and beyond with its growing merchant base and strategic partnerships.
