PTA Conducts 40 Raids Across Pakistan, Seizes Illegal SIMs and Devices

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) conducted 40 raids across various cities during the financial year 2023-24, targeting illegal telecom activities. Operations took place in cities including Lahore, Peshawar, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Multan, and many others, resulting in significant action against unauthorized telecom practices.

As part of the operations, authorities confiscated 7,500 illegal SIM cards and 152 Biometric Verification System (BVS) devices. Additionally, 47 suspects were arrested for their involvement in these unlawful activities. The PTA reaffirmed its commitment to combating illegal telecom practices and ensuring a secure, efficient telecommunications environment throughout Pakistan.
