Kuwait has resumed issuing electronic visas for tourists from 53 eligible countries after a brief suspension to enhance its system. The updated electronic visa application process can now be accessed through the new portal: kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw.
The Ministry of Interior explained last month that the suspension of the previous portal (evisa.moi.gov.kw) was necessary for system improvements. During the downtime, visitors could still obtain a tourist visa upon arrival in Kuwait. The new portal aims to better meet applicants’ needs, catering to tourists, business travelers, and future residents.
How to Apply for a Kuwait Electronic Visa
To apply, tourists from the 53 eligible countries must first create an account on the “Kuwait Visa” portal. After registration, applicants will need to complete an online form, providing personal information, including passport details, name, nationality, marital status, religion, profession, and contact information. Applicants must also upload the following documents:
- A passport-sized photo
- The data page of their passport
- A confirmed hotel reservation or host address in Kuwait
The electronic visa fee is 3 Kuwaiti dinars (approximately 10 €/$), payable online.
