Pakistan’s Telecom Sector Generates Over Rs2.5 Trillion in Revenue, Contributing Significantly to National Taxes

Pakistan’s telecommunications sector has generated a total revenue of Rs2.521 trillion over the past decade, with three major operators contributing Rs763.81 billion in taxes.

Between fiscal years 2013-14 and 2022-23, Jazz led the telecom industry with earnings of Rs1.663 trillion and tax contributions of Rs502.51 billion. Zong followed with Rs821.54 billion in revenue and Rs248.88 billion in taxes. Nayatel, a smaller player, recorded Rs37.6 billion in revenue, contributing Rs12.42 billion in taxes during the same period.

These figures underline the vital role telecom operators play in Pakistan’s economy, not only meeting the growing demand for communication services but also supporting national economic growth through significant tax contributions.
