Paktika Expands Telecommunication Coverage with 35 New Network Towers

The Paktika Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Technology has successfully installed and activated 35 telecommunication network towers across the province, including its center, at a total cost of 440 million Afghanis. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to improve connectivity and address telecommunication challenges in the region.

Mullah Mohammad Anwar Qiyam Adil, head of the Directorate, announced that 25 sites under the Salam Telecommunication Network were approved for 24 districts as part of the 10th TDF project. Surveys for these sites have been completed, and much of the construction work has been finalized.

Additionally, three sites in Argon and Sarroza districts were upgraded to prepare inactive sites in Argon, Surobi, and Barmal districts for 3G services. The directorate has also established a fully equipped computer lab worth three million Afghanis and renovated its building, enhancing the technological infrastructure.

With the activation of these new towers, 90% of telecommunication issues in Paktika have been resolved. Looking ahead, the directorate plans to address remaining challenges and expand telecommunication services across the province in the upcoming 1404 solar year.
