CITRA Addresses Internet Disruption in Kuwait, Ensures Swift Service Restoration

The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has clarified the cause of the internet disruption experienced yesterday, which affected one of the telecom companies in Kuwait. The disruption was due to damage in one of the seven international cables connecting the country to the global internet network.

CITRA is closely monitoring the affected company’s efforts to repair the damaged cable and is working to ensure that services are restored as quickly as possible. The authority is also investigating the incident with the company to ensure that measures are put in place to prevent similar disruptions in the future. This includes relying on alternative cables to maintain network connectivity.
