stc Bahrain, a leading digital enabler, has celebrated a significant achievement in its “Trees for Life” campaign, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability. In 2024, the company planted 27,172 trees across the kingdom, bringing the total to over 55,000 trees planted since the campaign’s launch in 2021.
These trees have contributed to improving green spaces in key areas such as schools, parks, main roads, and hotels, enhancing the local environment and promoting a healthier, more sustainable community. The “Trees for Life” initiative is a testament to stc Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to combat climate change and promote a greener future for Bahrain.
Through public-private partnerships, stc Bahrain is demonstrating leadership in environmental sustainability. The campaign supports Bahrain’s national afforestation plan, which aims to double the kingdom’s tree count from 1.8 million to 3.6 million by 2035. This aligns with Bahrain’s vision to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060.
Shaikh Zeyad Al Khalifa, Chief Government Affairs Officer at stc Bahrain, expressed pride in the campaign’s success, stating, “We are extremely proud of the impact ‘Trees for Life’ has achieved. This initiative reflects our deep commitment to environmental stewardship and the power of collaboration. By working together with our partners, we are creating a greener, healthier Bahrain for generations to come.”
In addition to planting trees, stc Bahrain actively promotes environmental awareness and sustainability through community engagement. The company plans to expand its efforts in 2025, with a goal of planting another 30,000 trees. stc Bahrain has invited both public and private sector organizations, as well as individuals, to join this national cause for a greener Bahrain.
The campaign has established strong partnerships with various organizations, including government ministries, municipalities, and private sector companies such as SADAD, Carrefour, Huawei, and others. It was launched in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Environment and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, following a long-term action plan aimed at increasing afforestation, reducing pollution, purifying the air, and ensuring environmental sustainability for the future.
