Egypt Inaugurates 2025 Space Technology Training Program to Empower Africa’s Space Sector

On January 13, 2025, the Egyptian Space Agency, in collaboration with the African Space Agency and under the oversight of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, launched the 2025 Basic Space Technology Training Grant. The program, hosted at the Space Academy in Cairo, welcomed 21 engineers and specialists from 20 African nations, reinforcing Egypt’s commitment to advancing Africa’s space capabilities.

Dr. Sharif Siddiqui, Executive President of the Egyptian Space Agency, highlighted the initiative’s importance in sharing Egypt’s expertise and facilities with the broader African continent. Since its launch in 2021, the program has successfully trained 71 participants from 34 African countries. This year’s curriculum includes hands-on training in satellite technology, offered in both English and French to foster collaboration and skill development among participants.
