Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, announced a strategic collaboration with HUTCH Sri Lanka, a leading telecommunications provider, to modernize its network operations. By leveraging advanced analytics and AI, HUTCH aims to enhance its customer service offerings while laying the groundwork for ecosystem collaboration and data monetization.
With the help of implementation partner Altria Consulting, HUTCH transitioned to a modern data architecture, addressing several challenges including data silos, rising costs, scalability limitations of the existing on-premise data warehouse, and inefficient data governance. These issues had been slowing down decision-making and operational efficiency.
HUTCH chose Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud for its on-demand scalability, centralized data access, enhanced security, and robust disaster recovery capabilities. The platform’s ease of use and high availability have empowered HUTCH’s corporate analytics, sales, and marketing teams to generate actionable business insights and create daily reports with advanced analytics.
The integration of Snowflake’s platform has led to substantial operational improvements. HUTCH reported a 60% reduction in data processing load times, cutting the process from 11.5 hours to 4.5 hours. The time to insight was also halved, from 12 hours to just 6 hours. Additionally, the telecom company realized a 30% reduction in operational expenses (OPEX), and its operations team’s workload decreased by 60%, allowing for more focus on strategic initiatives.
