Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, has entered into a strategic partnership with M42, an Abu Dhabi-based global health tech powerhouse, to launch the Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain. The new facility, located in Al Jasra, will replicate the successful care model of Amana Healthcare in the UAE, offering long-term care services for individuals with complex medical needs requiring extended inpatient stays.
The state-of-the-art facility, scheduled to open in 2025, will feature advanced services such as a dedicated laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, therapy rooms, a gym, hydrotherapy, and recreational spaces. It will also offer tailored social programs and non-clinical services to assist patients and families in adjusting to life after hospitalization.
This partnership aligns with Mumtalakat’s investment efforts in Bahrain and M42’s commitment to delivering world-class healthcare solutions tailored to local community needs. Additionally, the facility aims to establish Bahrain as a leader in specialized rehabilitation and long-term care while generating employment opportunities for Bahrainis in the healthcare sector.
Mumtalakat’s CEO, Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships to enhance Bahrain’s healthcare landscape and create skilled job opportunities for Bahrainis. M42’s CEO, Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, expressed excitement about bringing Amana Healthcare’s specialized care model to Bahrain and leveraging M42’s advanced health expertise to deliver personalized care.
Amana Healthcare’s model has been proven to reduce strain on acute hospital beds and improve the efficiency of healthcare resources. The facility’s sustainability initiatives were recognized in 2023, including awards for digital transformation, renewable energy, and resource management, setting the stage for its future success in Bahrain.
