The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) has announced plans to introduce new software designed to detect and prevent the use of mobile phones that do not have TRC approval. The Commission has urged the public to avoid purchasing unapproved mobile phones in the future.
Bandula Herath, the Director General of the TRC, stated that an automated system would be implemented soon to identify and block the use of unapproved devices, ensuring better control over mobile phone usage in the region. This initiative aims to enhance regulatory oversight and protect users from potentially harmful devices.
