UM6P Partners with STATION F to Launch NextAfrica Program for Startups

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) has partnered with STATION F, a global startup campus, to launch the NextAfrica program, aimed at promoting innovation and bridging Europe and Africa. The program will support international startups focused on sectors like Greentech, Agritech, and Healthtech, with a particular focus on the African market.

The partnership aligns with UM6P’s mission to connect African and European talents and provide startups with the tools to tackle Africa’s technological, economic, and environmental challenges. UM6P President Hicham El Habti emphasized that the alliance will enhance innovation and foster a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem across the two continents.

Roxanne Varza, Director of STATION F, expressed excitement about the partnership, particularly its focus on Greentech and Healthtech, sectors that are key to the global startup ecosystem. Morocco, being the third most represented country at STATION F, plays a crucial role in this collaboration.

The NextAfrica program offers international support to 20 startups annually, providing them access to both STATION F’s resources in Paris and UM6P’s scientific expertise and laboratories. The program aims to boost innovation, provide mentorship, and facilitate funding opportunities for startups seeking to enter African markets, helping to accelerate their growth.

This partnership marks a significant step in strengthening ties between Africa and Europe, supporting the development of innovative startups and addressing key challenges in various sectors.
