Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has announced plans to install over 250 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the city by the end of the year, in collaboration with Parkin Company. This partnership will significantly expand the Dewa EV Green Charger network, making it more convenient for customers to access charging infrastructure.
The new stations will be strategically located in high-density residential areas and will operate with alternating current (AC) at a capacity of 22 kilowatts. The stations will be located at prime parking sites managed by Parkin, and each will serve two parking spaces. Customers will be able to pay for both charging and parking through a seamless transaction using Parkin’s app and digital wallet.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa, emphasized that this initiative supports Dubai’s Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to make Dubai the city with the best living experience. Dewa’s current network of approximately 740 charging points will be expanded to 1,000 by the end of the year.
The installation of these charging stations will not only enhance convenience but also contribute to the UAE’s climate goals and further establish Dubai as a leading destination for sustainable living and business. Eng Mohamed Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, highlighted that the partnership with Dewa supports the transition to EVs and fosters the growth of sustainable mobility in Dubai.
