Virgin Mobile UAE Launches Electric Motorcycles for Delivery Riders in Sustainability Push

Virgin Mobile UAE has launched a groundbreaking initiative by introducing electric motorcycles exclusively for its delivery riders. Developed in partnership with Axiom Telecom, this eco-friendly solution is designed to reduce emissions and support Dubai’s sustainability goals in line with the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030. The e-bikes, which are now used for delivering SIM cards and other services, offer a fuel-free and smart transportation solution for delivery riders.

The e-bikes are equipped with a central control system, extended battery life, and optional app connectivity, ensuring efficiency and reliability in urban transport. This move is part of Virgin Mobile UAE’s broader commitment to sustainability, which includes encouraging eSIM adoption to minimize waste and offering environmentally friendly delivery options for customers who prefer physical SIMs.

Rob Beswick, Managing Director of Virgin Mobile UAE, highlighted that the introduction of the e-bikes reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into its business practices. The initiative contributes to Dubai’s environmental goals and promotes cleaner, smarter transportation in the telecommunications sector.

Fahad Al Bannai, CEO of Axiom Telecom, emphasized that this collaboration is a step toward sustainable last-mile delivery solutions, aligning with the UAE’s vision for clean energy and sustainability. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the mobile industry’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and embrace innovative, eco-friendly technologies.

The launch of the electric motorcycles is another example of Virgin Mobile’s commitment to providing smarter, greener solutions for its customers and operations in the UAE.
