New Cyber Threat “Grass Call” Targets Job Seekers on Online Recruitment Platforms

Iraq’s Ministry of Interior announced the identification of a new cyber threat called “Grass Call,” which targets job seekers on online recruitment platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed. The attack lures victims with fake job offers and fraudulent online interviews, instructing them to install malicious software under the guise of an interview requirement.

Once the malware is installed, it operates undetected, extracting sensitive data from the victim’s device and transmitting it to a remote server. The Cybersecurity Center has issued warnings to job seekers to be cautious of unsolicited job offers and to avoid installing any software during interviews. The ministry is working to address the threat and protect users from further exploitation.
