AMMAN — Visa (NYSE: V), a global leader in digital payments, has announced that cardholders in Jordan can now add their Visa cards to Google Wallet. Starting today, Visa cardholders from Arab Bank, InvestBank, and Al Rajhi Banking and Investment Corporation (Al Rajhi Bank Jordan) can link their Visa cards to their Google Wallet on Android and Wear OS devices. This integration will enable users to make payments wherever contactless options are accepted.
The integration comes in response to growing demand for digital payment solutions in Jordan, offering both locals and tourists the convenience of mobile phone-based contactless payments. Google Wallet’s security is based on tokenization, which replaces sensitive cardholder information, such as the 16-digit account number, with a unique token number, significantly reducing fraud and improving authorization rates.
Mario Makary, Vice President and Country Manager for Visa in Levant, said, “We are excited to enhance Jordan’s digital payment ecosystem through this partnership with Google. With mobile phone penetration reaching 82.3% in early 2025 and the rising trend toward cashless transactions, this integration offers Jordanians and visitors a secure, seamless payment experience, both locally and globally.”
Ben Volk, Vice President and General Manager of Google Pay and Google Wallet, added, “Google Pay provides a fast, easy, and secure way to pay with Android phones or Wear OS devices. Users can confidently add their debit and credit cards to Google Wallet and enjoy secure transactions.”
