Ahmed Alloush, President of the Association of Mobiles and Accessories Investors (Vision), revealed that Jordan’s imports of mobile devices in 2024 amounted to approximately JD176 million, with a total of 1.855 million devices being imported. The association also shared that purchases of mobile devices and accessories made with debit cards in 2024 stood at JD60.2 million.
In a statement from the association, it was reported that approximately 1.2 million payment transactions were made at point-of-sale systems in mobile phone stores during 2024. This data highlights the growing demand for mobile technology and the shift toward digital payments.
Alloush noted that the value of imports in 2024 increased by 13.7% compared to 2023, when imports were valued at JD154.6 million. The number of imported devices also saw a 7.5% increase from 2023, which had 1.726 million devices, reaching 1.855 million devices in 2024.
Additionally, the total value of tablet devices imported into Jordan in 2024 was approximately JD45 million. This reflects the continued growth of the consumer electronics market in the Kingdom.
